L’Orange & Jeremiah Jae ft. Zeroh & Lojii – Borrowed Brass

L’Orange and Jeremiah Jae release ‘Borrowed Brass’ featuring Zeroh and Lojii.

“You mean to tell me freedom failed before we could hear it ring?” is the cutting opening line as ‘Borrowed Brass‘ gets underway. The song continues with Jeremiah Jae exchanging equally lyrically-driven verses over L’Orange’s cryptic production, with Philly rapper Lojii and Los Angeles lyricist Zeroh, as they collectively merge the best elements of each coast’s hip-hop scenes.

Last month, producer-rapper duo L’Orange and Jeremiah Jae announced Complicate Your Life With Violence (out October 4th), the follow-up to their 2015 collaborative debut The Night Took Us In Like Family. Today, they’ve unveiled the second single, “Borrowed Brass.”

Consequence of Sound featured the song today in their ORIGINS feature, exploring L’Orange and Jeremiah Jae’s five inspirations behind the track.

L’Orange and Jae recently released the album’s first video for “Dead Battery,” which gained attention from the likes of The Fader, Flood and Hypebeast, who called it “sinister and nearly psychedelic.”
