De’Wayne Jackson makes his SpitFireHipHop debut with his new ‘Top Gun’ single.

Genre defying artist De’Wayne Jackson is looking to shatter barriers. Blending elements of Alternative Rock with Hip-Hop and R&B, “Top Gun” is the latest release from the Los Angeles, by way of Houston, artist. With this release De’Wayne wants listeners to not feel boxed in, he shares, “The mission is to show people we shouldn’t live in boxes and neither should the music we’re consuming.”

“Top Gun” sheds light on the oppression faced in the current climate, and the rage faced by a lot of individuals. The most powerful viewpoints to take away from this single is that there can be multiple interpretations for De’Wayne’s lyrics.
