Elaquent ft. Chester Watson – Airwalk

Elaquent and Chester Watson connect for this new ‘Airwalk’ single.

The new album from Canadian producer Elaquent is his first outside the instrumental beat scene.  The new spotlight on vocalists allows his production to soar with accents of seasoned vocalists like Oddisee, Blu, Guilty Simpson and a l l i e.

The sound is lead with beasts as steady and avant as any you would have heard at Low End Theory, but infused with a warm smoky jazz and easy electronic warble.  The result is an album that feels like an old favorite while breaking new ground at the same time.

Elaquent has long been a beat scene favorite, now he’s poised to be everyone’s favorite with Forever Is A Pretty Long Time.

After premiering the album’s lead single, “Guidelines” featuring Oddisee with Billboard and teaming up with Polaris Prize-nominated singer a l l i e for “One Week,” Elaquent returns with a new single, “Airwalk,” featuring rising LA rapper Chester Watson.”

“I’m fortunate to have a few hip hop veterans on my album, but it was important to me to have some fresh faces on the record. I first got hip to Chester after hearing him on my homie fredfades’ album and his monotone delivery makes a cool contrast with the beat” Elaquent commented to HipHopDx. “My man’s is a problem, and was actually the very first person I reached out to collaborate during the inception of the album.”

Elaquent’s Forever Is A Pretty Long Time will be released on February 21 by Mello Music Group.
