Smif-N-Wessun – Bucktown 360

Smif-N-Wessun release ‘Bucktown 360’ for the 25th anniversary.

On January, 5th 1995, Smif-N-Wessun (Tek & Steele) announced their arrival with the duo’s veritable classic debut album, Dah Shinin’, which was released by the then fledgling Nervous Records imprint.

Dah Shinin’ was the definition of edgy, fresh, street and raw; and the projects influence on the culture still reverberates to this day.  The albums lead single, “Bucktown,” (Produced by Da Beatminerz) is a 360 degree homage to Tek & Steele’s beloved Brooklyn, which became instantly synonymous for the borough.  Fun fact; Dah Shinin’ was also notable for marking the official formation of the Boot Camp Clik (RIP Sean Price).

Today, things really come 360, to celebrate Dah Shinin’s 25th anniversary, Smif-N-Wessun have re-imagined their debut albums lead-single with “Bucktown 360,” which is now available for purchase and streaming at all DSP’s.

“Bucktown 360” is a nostalgic trip down memory lane through the eyes and experiences of Tek and Steele as Smif-N-Wessun.  We analyze our collection, as well as our individual successes and failures throughout this amazing journey” Tek & Steele commented.  “As we do that, we always find ourselves 360 degrees back home in Bucktown.”
